Today’s takeaway: If you’re looking for advice you need to find good role models. If you want advice on how to have a better marriage, you don’t talk to someone who’s been divorced five times, they probably won’t have the answers you’re looking for. This translates into every aspect of your life.
If you’re looking for business advice, find a role model that has owned and operated a successful business.
Now, if you cannot find a role model in your circle of friends, family or community, you can easily search online. Find an expert, or experts, in a particular area and listen to their podcasts, read their blogs, and watch their videos. If they have a book…read it. A role model doesn’t have to be someone you personally know.
This episode was almost split into two parts, what I’ve mentioned above, and what I talk on the video regarding role models and then the second half they discussed contrast and standing out in business using podcasting. I won’t go into detail here, but if your interested in podcasts and marketing through podcasting it’s worth listening to.
