HOUR 55 - Learn To Speak Like A Pro



HOUR 55: Todays podcast was Duct Tape Marketing hosted by John Jantsch - Learn To Speak Like A Pro with Grant Baldwin from The Speakers Lab. #TheSpeakersLab #DuctTapeMarketing 

If you want to speak like a professional, the more you do it the better you’re going to get, which makes sense, however Grant Baldwin said you need to also look at three very important aspects first. 

WHY do you want to be a professional speaker, WHO are you going to talk to and WHAT are you going to talk about. You need to get these three things right. 

WHY do you want to be a professional speaker? Is it simply to make money, or are you wanting to promote and sell a book, a course, or maybe a particular product? 

WHO are you going to talk to? You can’t say I’ll talk to anyone, instead you have to narrow down your audience if you really want to be an effective and professional speaker. 

And finally, WHAT are you going to speak about. Once again to be effective you can’t say you’ll talk about anything. What are your strengths and what subject do you really want to talk about. 

When you see an amazing speaker, more than likely they’ve done that particular speech hundreds of times, first starting with smaller groups before moving onto larger audiences. 

They’ve worked out what works and what doesn’t and used this experience to become a better speaker. Also, they limit their topics to just a few, which is why they know the subject so well, and this explains why they seem so good when you see them for the first time. This is what makes them awesome.
