Hour 240 - The Importance of Goals

HOUR 240: High-Performance podcast with Josh Phegan and Alexander Phillips - Episode date: 23/4/17 - The Importance of Goals In Your Business.

Todays Takeaway points:
#1: There’s a big difference between Goal Setting & Goal Getting.
Anyone can set goals, that’s the easy part. Working towards them is much harder and most people write them down and 24 hours later they’ve totally forgotten about them.
Goal Getting is different. It’s a process of ‘hunting down’ your goals. A good way to do this is to have a number of mini goals in between your bigger goals, so on a day-to-day basis, you have something to aim at.
#2: It’s all about CLARITY. Day to day work becomes easier when you have clarity.
#3: You need to have unmet needs to keep pushing you forward because if all your needs are satisfied it’s no longer a motivator of behaviour.
Bonus tips:
  • You need to have an accountability buddy, a business coach or mentor.
  • Your mentor may also be a tormentor.
  • Get up an hour earlier each day and you’ll be surprised how much more you get done.

Hour 239 - Numerology

HOUR 239: The Mind Your Business Podcast with James Wedmore and Phoebe Mroczek, Episode 019: Know Your Numbers (An Intro to Numerology) with Kari Samuels.

This podcast was recommended by my good friend Dr. Brent Seaver. My initial thoughts were, “what have you been smoking Brent”, but once I got into the episode is was really interesting. Kari links numerology to both personal and business success and how you need to understand your energy flow.

Today’s takeaway point:

#1: You don’t need to believe in numerology, you just need to pay attention to it. So forget about numerology and ASK YOURSELF, Am I in tune with my own energy at the moment?
Have you noticed times when you have high and low energy levels? You need to pay attention to this. You will be more productive and intuitive when you understand your energy flows. - Check out the term MERCURY RETROGRADE.

BONUS TIP: People respond to energy more than information, so if you’re communicating with someone via email, make sure it contains your energy and not just boring info. SO STOP THINKING SO MUCH AND START FEELING.

Hour 238 - People to Avoid

HOUR 238: (Fiji) The Tai Lopez Show: 70% Of The People You Probably Need To Avoid.

So far all of the podcasts I have listened to I’ve agreed with the message, or at least part of it, but this one is too left field for me.

Watch my video and you’ll understand why. Maybe I missed the point!!! I totally get it about avoiding certain people, but 70% is quite high and to eliminate people on medication for mental disorders is a bit hard.

Hour 237 - Beyond The Comfort Zone

HOUR 237: (FIJI) The Charged Life with Brendon Burchard, Ep date 25/4/17: Beyond The Comfort Zone.

Today’s Takeaway points:
#1: Your comfort zone is not important, because if you have dreams and goals you will do whatever it takes to achieve them, whether they’re inside or outside your comfort zone, and because we’re often told to play to our strengths, which does make sense, sometimes we need to work on our weaknesses to achieve our goals, and often they’re outside our comfort zone.

#2: What would your courages future-self tell you…if it could? What skill would it tell you to learn to help you achieve your goals? Think about it, and then go and do it.

Hour 236 - How Does A Successful Mind Think

HOUR 236: (FIJI) The Positive Play podcast Cannon Lee and Triz Garcia, Episode date 14/4/17 - How Does A Successful Mind Think with Amy Simpkins - Vision Architect.

Today’s Takeaway points:

#1: Your words shape your thoughts and your thoughts shape your actions. So if you let negative words come out of your mouth they will effect your thinking and this will eventually effect the actions, or inactions you take each day.

#2: A successful mind is also an ‘Experimental Mind’. Its not afraid to try new things and it’s not afraid to make mistakes, because it learns from errors and keeps moving forward.

Hour 235 - To Do List Apps

HOUR 235: The Productivity Show, Episode 135: How To Find & Choose The Perfect Todo List App For You.

Some people still like to use pen, paper and post-it-notes, but there are a lot of todo list apps and programs that can be used to make your life a lot more productive.

For very simple tasks, like shopping lists, there are many FREE apps you can download that have very basic functions.

Also, don’t forget to use the REMINDER on your phone as a todo function. It’s no good as a list, but excellent for one off activities, like picking up your children  from school.

Other considerations:
  • Are you sharing your todo list with someone else? Some are better than others at sharing.
  • Are you using it for business or is it just for personal use?
  • If you’re thinking of changing to a new todo list  app, make sure the change is worthwhile, becasue it will take you time to make the change. Is there a feature you really need and is this why you’re changing?
  • What are other people using successfully?

Hour 234 - Gary Vaynerchuk How To Start

HOUR 234: The GaryVee Audio Experience, Episode 17/4/17 - HOW TO START.
This podcast episode is all about creating content and why there’s no excuse for not talking to the world.

But fist you need to know WHAT, HOW and WHERE.

WHAT are you going to talk about? What do you want to be know for? You need to tell people what you’re thinking and don’t be afraid to share your thoughts.

You need to document what you’re passionate about. It may be coffee, food, whisky, or exercise and fitness. Self Awareness is the key and it’s more important than the hustle.

If you’re into Smurfs you need to Smurf-It-Up.

HOW are you going to share your information? you do it will vary. Some people prefer video and audio, while other like to write. Sure all mediums and play to your strengths.
Just get in front of a camera and start recording your thoughts and learn to enjoy the process of sharing.

WHERE you place your content is endless. Of course you have all the social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram, but you need to also guest blog, partner up with other people and you need to give, give, give value to people…and then ask.

As an example, go online and look up #CoffeeBlogs #coffee etc and you’ll find hundreds of links to coffee blogs and website. Start asking if you can write for them. One out of 347 will say yes, and that’s better than zero.

Start a beer blog, if you’re into beer, and then contact every beer outlet and ask if they’d like to advertise on your blog.

Why not start a written blog inside Facebook, or videos on Instagram. Share you thoughts on a regular basis. Gary said people eat this sh#t up.

SIMPLY START EXECUTING.
